Moon Sweepers Co-op: Player Limit, Shared Upgrades and Bans

Moon Sweepers supports online co-op lobbies of up to 16 players. The crew uses the host's Upgrade Matrix, and a matrix purchase by any crew member upgrades everyone. Hosts can open ESC > Your Crew to kick, ban or unban players; a ban blocks that player from rejoining that save.

How many players can join?

Online co-op lobbies support up to 16 players, according to the official Steam store. This is the documented lobby limit, not a promise of any particular performance level.

Which upgrades are shared?

The developer's 1.0.3 notes describe a shared Upgrade Matrix:

  • The crew uses the host's matrix.
  • Any crew member's matrix purchase upgrades everyone.
  • Older saves retain the highest upgrade level previously purchased by anyone in the crew.

These rules concern the Upgrade Matrix specifically. They do not establish sharing rules for personal equipment, inventories, currency or every vehicle. Source: developer patch notes.

How hosts kick, ban and unban players

While hosting:

  1. Open the ESC menu.
  2. Select Your Crew.
  3. Use the listed player's kick or ban control.
  4. Return to that menu to unban a player when needed.

The documented effect of a ban is to prevent the player from joining that save again. The notes do not establish a broader account-wide ban. Source: developer host-control notes.

Read the public-session confirmation

Patch 1.0.5 adds a confirmation before starting a public game or switching a crew to public. The notice explains what other players can do to your Moon and points hosts to the moderation controls under Your Crew. Read that notice before confirming public access. Source: 1.0.5 developer notes.

One explicitly documented construction permission is that any crewmate can add splitters and mergers to belts built by other players, introduced in the 1.0.4 notes. This is not a complete guest-permission list. Source: 1.0.4 developer notes.
